Manuel Nelito Ekuikui, who responded to an invitation from the governor of Luanda province, Manuel Homem, was speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, which served to identify problems that afflict the population and possible solutions.

"We talked a bit about the problems of the families in Zango, who have been without their homes for 11 years - they demolished their homes -, they are in housing without any dignity, in fact, no housing, they are in sheet metal houses and we asked the governor to dialogue and effectively find a solution", said Manuel Nelito Ekuikui.

According to the deputy to the National Assembly, the problem of water drainage was also addressed, because "whenever it rains, there are problems, people die, and it should actually be one of the priorities".

"Therefore, we leave some suggestions for the governor in the sense of having a very successful mandate and impacting lives, because to govern is to impact lives", he underlined, stressing that the elections were held and the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola party ( UNITA) is "to help those who are governing the country".

"The resolution of housing problems, several populations were displaced in the center of the city, the rains are approaching and Luanda, whenever it rains, the issue of water drainage is a problem and as a result people always die", Manuel Nelito Ekuikui listed the main concerns.

The politician stressed that other known problems do not depend directly on the governor, "it is a more global strategy", namely "the problem of lack of employment and others".

"We are here to help, to walk together as Angolans support us, that is the right thing to do", he stressed, highlighting Manuel Homem's high degree of openness and availability to solve Luanda's problems.

"In Luanda, several interests gravitate, naturally there are things that will not depend directly on the governor, but even so, where there is a will to solve problems, the governor will solve it, at least he showed himself available for dialogue", underlined the deputy, also signaling the need for changes in the treatment of strike cases, several times repressed through the use of police force.

"When the police repress then the politician gets bad and the governor is young he can talk, always go down and talk. Luanda is the center of power and being the center of power whoever governs Luanda has to have the ability to dialogue with all segments", he stressed.
