Laurinda Cardoso in Indonesia to attend the 5th World Congress on Constitutional Justice

Laurinda Cardoso, President of the Constitutional Court, is in Indonesia to attend the 5th World Congress on Constitutional Justice, which takes place between this Tuesday and Saturday (4th to 8th October).

The information is contained in a statement from the Constitutional Court, to which VerAngola had access.

"The presiding judge of the Constitutional Court of Angola, Laurinda Monteiro Cardoso, is in the Republic of Indonesia, to participate, from 4 to 8 October, in the 5th World Congress on Constitutional Justice, in the dual capacity of President of the Constitutional Court of Angola and the Conference of African Constitutional Jurisdictions (CJCA)", reads the statement.

The intervention of the President of the Constitutional in the event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th. According to the program, Laurinda Cardoso will speak during the afternoon on the "Limitation of the Role of the Constitutional Courts in the Maintenance of Peace".

The note also mentions that the official is accompanied by the judge counselor Gilberto Magalhães, as well as "senior officials of the institution".

Furthermore, as president of the CJCA, Laurinda Cardoso will also participate in the 1st Joint Conference between the Asian Association of Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC) and the CJCA, "in order to analyze the cooperation and protection of the fundamental rights of Asian and African peoples".

The 5th world congress, whose theme will be "Constitutional Justice and Peace", concerns an "organization of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia in cooperation with the Venice Commission and will bring together in the same space, more than 100 constitutional jurisdictions around the world," the note said.
