Reacting to the choice, the expert said he was happy: "I feel that my work is being recognized in the space industry, I feel happy and motivated, as the space industry is an industry full of talent and I didn't count on being elected", he said in an interview with Platinumline.
According to Platinaline, Eldrige de Melo is the first angolan to join the program's jury panel, which will, through strict criteria, choose the 100 largest geospatial companies in the world.
The angolan started his professional career as a satellite operator, and currently has extensive experience in designing and marketing space missions.
Eldrige de Melo has also worked for several companies in the geospatial sector, with emphasis on the Management Office of the National Space Program (GGPEN), in Angola, Airbus Defense and Space, among others. The angolan is currently working as EMEA Sales and Business Development Director for Satellogic.
In addition, some time ago, Eldrige de Melo was awarded and inscribed on the honor roll of the International Space University in France.
The program started this Monday, the 11th of October, and will extend until April of next year. One of the criteria that the Angolan, as well as the other juries, will have to analyze is innovation, thus allowing the list of the 100 most relevant companies to be translated into an incentive to innovation.
According to Platinaline, since 2016 Geo Awesomeness has released the list to enable the community to identify companies operating in the geospatial sector.
