Eldrige de Melo: an Angolan on the honor roll of the International Space University

His name is Eldrige de Melo and he is the first Angolan student to attend the International Space University, in France. As if this feat is not enough, the young Angolan is also a student of the honor roll, being highlighted in the institution.

Last week, the young specialist in business in the spatial sector and also linked to the areas of telecommunications and management of aerospace projects, was recognized in the murals celebrating great achievements of students with greater prominence at the university.

Having represented Angola several times at several important moments for the space sector during the year 2020, Eldrige became the first in the country to participate in the Postgraduate Program in Space Sector Marketing, a partnership between the Special International University and Florida Tech.

This is the only certification program that grants the postgraduate level in the USA, and this year it was developed in an online format due to the covid-19 pandemic, says the IT Portal.

Focused on helping the growth of the Angolan space program, Eldrige made available its knowledge and skills in the areas of space policy, markets, technology and entrepreneurship to boost the sector.

The young man represents the country as a contact point for the Space Youth Advisory Council in support of the United Nations space program.

At the moment, he is also the manager of the main European projects under the responsibility of ICEYE, leader in the space sector in space radars with synthetic aperture.
