The information was provided by FAF vice-president José Carlos Miguel who also said that, despite the fact that the angolan soccer team's qualification for the World Cup in Qatar2022 has been compromised, the work that has been developed by Pedro Gonçalves provides guarantees for the future.

"The FAF board has no plans to get rid of Professor Pedro Gonçalves, despite the fact that we don't have good results on the field, but, from the point of view of inserting new players and restructuring the selection, we believe that the work is being done. and it gives us guarantees of a better future, therefore, we are going to continue with the work developed by Professor Pedro Gonçalves," he said.

The confirmation comes days after speculating that, as a result of the poor results of the Angolan football team, in the race to World Cup Qatar2022, the FAF intended to terminate the contract with the coach.

In 10 games in charge of the Angolan soccer team, the Portuguese coach won two, lost seven and drew one.

In the race to the World Cup, Angola has three points from four games and is last in group F, with Gabon in third with four, Egypt, which leads, with 10, and Libya, which is second, with six.

Pedro Gonçalves and 'pupilos' return to play on 11 November, in Luanda, against Egypt, the team they lost in the first round, 1-0, and end the group stage, three days later, when they visit Libya, with whom they also lost in the second round, for the same result.
