The swimmer finished the race in two minutes, 10 seconds and 78 tenths of a second, securing a place on the podium, according to a Facebook post by the Angolan Swimming Federation.
This is the first individual medal that the national team wins in the event and the second overall, after the country won the bronze medal in the 4x200 meters freeway on Monday.
In the competition, which continues this Wednesday, Angolan swimmer Rafaela Santo should swim in the 400 meters freestyle, while Daniel Francisco and Henrique Mascarenhas participate in the 100 meters freestyle and Salvador Gordo and Djamel Pires participate in the 50 meters butterfly, Angop writes.
