Mundial2022: Angola loses to Gabon and is almost out of Qatar

The national football team, led by Portuguese coach Pedro Gonçalves, lost this Monday, in Franceville, against Gabon, by 2-0, in a match for the fourth round of the African qualifying zone for the Mundial2022.

Arsenal striker Pierre Aubameyang, in the 74th minute, opened the scoring, which was extended by Alex Moussounda, in the 84th minute, a result that leaves Angola practically out of the finals in Qatar.

On Sunday, upon arrival at Franceville airport, in Gabon, the angolan national team was held for more than two hours in a room without air conditioning and without chairs, as the gabonese authorities required a test for covid-19.

The fact was considered deplorable by the Angolan Football Federation which, among several points, demanded the intervention of the African Football Confederation and FIFA.

It all happened following the incidents before the Angola-Gabon game, in Luanda, which was delayed, for more than an hour and a half, due to the failure to carry out the Covid-19 tests by the Gabonese team in Angolan territory.

Even so, FIFA decided to carry out the game, considering the tests that the Gaboneses carried out in their country, two days before the game, won by Angola 3-1, were valid.

Also for group F, the teams of Libya and Egypt will face each other this Monday at 8pm, in Benghazi.

The national team will return to play, on November 11, in Luanda, against Egypt, with whom they lost in the first round, by 1-0, and ends the group stage, three days later, when they visit Libya, with whom they also lost in the second round, for the same result.

Egypt leads group F, with seven points, followed by Libya, with six, Gabon is third, with four, and Angola is the last classified, with three points.
