“Luanda is cleaner” announces GPL, one day after terminating with two cleaning operators

This Monday, Esteves Hilário, Director of the Legal Office of the Government of the Province of Luanda (GPL), announced that the entity had terminated with two solid waste cleaning operators in Luanda. A day later, a publication appears that announces the collection of more than six thousand tons of waste, in a massive cleaning campaign.

:

The GPL will have terminated its contracts with Jumps-Business Internacional Lda. and Multi-limpeza Lda., as they do not have the technical capacity required to provide the services for which they were contracted.

"To make up for the removal of these companies, it will be up to ELISAL, as a subsidiary of the GPL, to temporarily assume the operation of solid waste collection in the Municipalities of Belas and Cacuaco, thus ensuring the maintenance of services", stated the provincial government in a statement.

Following these announcements, the GPL still believes in a cleaner Luanda, announcing that 6,820 tonnes of waste were collected as part of a massive cleaning campaign, which took place on 2 October.

This collection, they refer, is the result of work carried out in seven of the nine municipalities of the capital, for which staff from the Angolan Armed Forces, the National Police, citizens, employees of the National Agency for Solid Waste, as well as cleaning operators were engaged. .

In a statement that VerAngola had access to, the GPL said that "the campaigns are punctual and aim, in addition to leaving Luanda cleaner, to create a movement to raise awareness of the participation of all citizens of Luanda in caring for what is common. ".

The provincial government will already be creating conditions for the next cleaning campaign, scheduled for the first week of November.
