The research thus counters the idea that the largest number of women entrepreneurs is found in developed countries, revealing that developed countries in Europe, such as Germany, Italy, among others, have low rates of female entrepreneurs.
The list of countries with the most women entrepreneurs, according to the study's findings, is led by Angola, with more than half of women entering the world of entrepreneurship (51.1 percent).
In second place comes Panama (29.1 percent), followed by Saudi Arabia (17.7 percent).
The scarcity of formal employment opportunities is the main reason for the rise in entrepreneurship, the researchers indicate.
