"In honor of the former Governor of the Province of Luanda, the new school complex number 2059, designated "Sérgio Luther Rescova", in the district was inaugurated this Tuesday, October 5th, by the Governor of Luanda, Ana Paula de Carvalho Urbano de Cabolombo, Municipality of Belas", can be read in a note made available on Facebook by the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL).
On the occasion, Pedro Rescova, brother of Sérgio Rescova, spoke on behalf of the family, saying that they are happy that the memory of his brother is still present.
"It is gratifying to know that this infrastructure bears the name of Sérgio Luther Rescova Joaquim, who on October 9th has been a year since he stopped living with us in the world of the living, we say that the feeling is one of joy because, despite the inconsolable pain that still suffocates us, we feel happy to know that the memory of our Luther is still present", he said, quoted in the note.
The primary and secondary school was built under the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM). It is capable of accommodating around 800 students, comprising a computer room, a psychological support office, a pedagogical support area, a meeting room, four bathrooms, canteen, teachers' room, cafeteria, changing room, between others.
The governor of Luanda took the opportunity to mention that the number of school institutions built under the PIIM continues to increase.
"This infrastructure built from scratch brings expectations to families and the community that will certainly find here pedagogical services provided by professionals who are required, in addition to technical and scientific knowledge, skills and ethically responsible attitudes that lead to molding the most intimate of people, its students, thus contributing to form the man who has to help transform the community and society in which he is inserted", indicated Ana Paula de Carvalho.
The note also cites a message from the students, where Sílvia Sílvio indicated that "the importance of this school infrastructure lies in the students' responsibility to transform it into a strong learning space, showing everyone that through it, we will be the future builders of this country ".
