When intervening in the First Annual Forum to Promote Compliance and Good Corporate Practices, held by NF-Confojur, Bornito de Sousa valued the connection that must exist between good governance and compliance programs, having defended that the entities that make up the The public sector can and should adopt good practices from the private sector and implement compliance programs.

"Mechanisms or tools that were created in the private sector to control corruption, such as compliance programs, are applicable to the Public Administration, aiming at improving its mechanisms related to the strategic management of information and the creation of networks for discussion, deliberation and provision , due to the public value," he said, in a statement that VerAngola had access to.

For the vice president of the Republic, in this regard, there is still a long way to go, both for the drafting of laws and regulations, and for the need to change the population's mentality in relation to ethical issues and about "doing what is right," thinking of the common good, regardless of the circumstances.

At the same location, the Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury, Ottoniel dos Santos, highlighted that he views compliance and, in general, Good Corporate Governance Practices, as a powerful ally of the State, on the institutional and business front, for the continuation of measures to safeguard Public Finances.

He said that without proper compliance, in the most diverse institutions and entities, financial and non-financial, public and private, there is no credibility. And without credibility, there is no investment, thus compromising development and the future.

"We have taken, in recent years, a very persistent and very arduous path to put our Public Finances back on a path of sanitation and balance, imposing rigor and discipline in the execution of expenditures, and justice and equity in attracting revenues, by broadening the base tax and without penalizing companies and families that already fulfilled their obligations to the State", he clarified.

Also according to Ottoniel dos Santos, with the reinforcement of compliance and Good Governance Practices at the State level, there were very significant advances in improving the management of Public Finances.

"Let's be mistaken if you think that the crisis caused by the covid-19 pandemic will make us lower our guard on good budgetary management. Not only have we not lowered our guard, but we are going to continue and deepen, as much as possible, the measures of macroeconomic management, safeguarding our external solvency, protecting families with fewer resources, supporting companies that generate wealth and employment, and freeing resources for public investment", concluded the SEFT, when delivering the closing speech at the Annual Forum to Promote Compliance and Good News Corporate Practices, on behalf of the Minister of Finance.

During the event, topics were addressed such as the importance of implementing the control and surveillance system in institutions, protection of personal data and compliance programs, civil and criminal liability for compliance, as well as the criminal liability of legal entities.

NF-Confojour is a company dedicated, among other activities, to the provision of surveillance and control systems implementation services, helping organizations to prevent financial losses caused by non-compliance with legal and ethical standards, contributing to the design of an environment corporate and legally secure.
