“Ar Condicionado” is the winning feature film at Unitel Angola Move

The film “Ar Condicionado”, by the director Fradique, was the winning feature of the Unitel Angola Move, which also awarded the short film “1999” and “O Alambamento da Minha Cultura” in the Documentary category.

More than 150 films competed at Unitel Angola Move, including feature and short films and documentaries, produced between 2019 and 2021, with ten feature films, 11 short films and 11 documentaries having passed to the final stage.

The trophy, designed by Angolan artist Guilherme Mampuya, was presented by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, to Tchiloia Lara, from production company Geração 80, on behalf of director Fradique, who will also receive a pecuniary prize of 13 million kwanzas.

The Minister of Culture, Jomo Fortunato, presented the award for the winner of the short film to Hugo Salvaterra, author of "1999", for distinction in the category of best documentary. The author of "Alambamento da Minha Cultura", Mocotó Praia, received the distinction from the hands of Miguel Geraldes, General Director of Unitel.

The theater was also honored at the ceremony, with awards given to the playwright, director, writer and founder of Elinga Teatro, José Mena Abrantes and to the International Theater Circuit.

Unitel Angola Move intends to encourage and enhance the work developed by young Angolans linked to the art of acting and cinema, and had its first edition in 2021, but it will be held annually.
