The President of the Republic was this Friday at the Industrial Pole of Viana, where he inaugurated a factory for the assembly of electrical appliances with the capacity to produce around 300 thousand different devices per day.
"We left this visit quite satisfied, as this is a sign that national production is beginning to take on another life," said the head of state, quoted by Angop. For João Lourenço, it is beginning to be possible to notice that "in terms of industrial production, businesspeople, both national and foreign operating in Angola, are committed to increasing the supply of consumer goods for the populations".
He also pointed out that this specific factory produces a range of goods with great domestic demand: "I am referring to televisions, chests, glaciers and stoves, which were almost exclusively imported and, from this and other factories, will transform this reality and we started to consume products made in Angola ".
The new plant is owned by the Angolan company ICC, a pioneer in the sector in the country. Annually, it will produce 75 thousand televisions, 50 thousand stoves, 100 thousand air conditioners and 75 thousand glaciers and chests.
The most recent investment was around US $ 15 million, with the factory providing 75 percent of production for the domestic market and 25 percent for imports.
Integrated in the Industrial Pole of Viana, in an area of 500 thousand square meters, the factory currently employs 110 national workers and 10 expatriates. Numbers that are expected to increase in 2021, reaching the mark of 250 employees.
The commercialization of the produced components will be carried out through a network of 30 stores located in all the municipalities of Luanda with the designations of Hiperelectro (electrical appliances), Hiperflex (mattresses and accessories), Hiper (paint) and Hipertubo (tubes).
According to the company's director, as of Saturday, the 3rd, these products will already be available to the public.
Apart from this industrial unit, ICC has seven factories in the municipality of Viana, employing a total of around 700 employees. It produces foams, sheets, tubes, paints, packaging and mattresses.
Also according to Angop, the company has exclusive distribution in the country of 12 brands, including Midea, Hisense, TCL, Clea, Toshiba and Electrolux.
