The Congolese businessman, married to the daughter of José Eduardo dos Santos, died on Thursday in Dubai, at the age of 48, in a diving accident.
The entrepreneur's family thanked the statements of support and solidarity received in the past hours. "The family thanks everyone who expressed feelings of sorrow, solidarity and kindness and who share our pain", it can be read in a statement.
"It is with deep regret and consternation that the Dokolo family, wife, children, mother, brother and sisters, in this moment of enormous sadness and pain, regrets informing the death of Sindika Dokolo, on Thursday, October 29, 2020, in Dubai ", adds the statement.
Sindika Dokolo is known for being one of the faces of the opposition of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and one of the promoters of the return of African art, exhibited in Europe, Africa, repairing what he considered to be a consequence of the colonization of the continent.
