With regard to the technology sector, two agreements were signed with Huawei, which are focused on the digital transition of the sectors, said the minister.
Ricardo D'Abreu said that the Chinese multinational already works with the sector he manages in "three different areas".
"Huawei is already working with the transport sector in three different domains, in terms of perimeter security at the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport and, also, in the field of intelligent security at the Luanda Railway, in Bungo/new Airport section, and then, in terms of headquarters infrastructure for the transport sector, with the introduction of a smart building with Huawei technology", he said, quoted by Jornal de Angola.
According to the holder of the Transport portfolio, within the scope of the infrastructure sector, the agreements cover intervention on the railway tracks to Cabinda, from the Caio Terminal to the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on the Surface Metro, on the route between Cacuaco and Benfica.
The aforementioned agreements are part of the challenges outlined by the sector with regard to the integration of transport and logistics infrastructures, at a regional and continental level, writes Jornal de Angola.
It is worth mentioning that, within the scope of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, the Minister of Transport will speak, this Thursday, at a high-level round table at the forum, under the theme 'Continuing high-quality cooperation within the initiative 'Belt and Road': a platform for modernization with joint planning, construction and benefits".
