One of the units is located in the Simulambuco neighbourhood and has 56 rooms, while the other is located on Rua de Macau and has 29 rooms.

According to a statement from the Cabinda government, which VerAngola had access to, the units are budgeted at over 18 billion kwanzas, and that "both investments were financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB)".

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony – part of the celebrations of World Tourism Day, which is celebrated this Friday – the Minister of Tourism said that with these inaugurations Cabinda now has "two extremely important tourist infrastructures".

On the occasion, he reiterated that the Government remains committed to providing support to private initiatives in the hotel and tourism sector in Angola and added that the task of creating hotel units is a private one, and that it is up to the Government to remove possible bureaucratic obstacles that could hinder the growth of this sector in Angola.

Quoted by Angop, he also stated that the authorities will continue to supervise the licensing and inspection of hotel infrastructures in the country, as well as promote activities to stimulate the activity through lines of financing in order to boost the sector.

The provincial governor, Suzana Abreu, also spoke at the event. Quoted in the Cabinda government's statement, the governor "described the new hotel units as being of high quality, considering the levels of excellence they present".

On the occasion, she left a word of encouragement to businesspeople to "continue investing in the province, in order to allow the creation of more jobs, especially for young people, and for the development of Cabinda".

According to Angop, one of the units now inaugurated has three stars, while the other has four stars.

With these two new hotel units, the provincial government's statement adds, Cabinda "now has 15 hotel units and a total of 1291 rooms".

It should be noted that Márcio Daniel and Suzana Abreu, before the inauguration, visited the Hotel and Tourism School, which is linked to the Hotel Infortur and is located in the village of Chiazi.
