More than 560 people died in Angola in the last rainy season

Angola recorded a total of 567 deaths in the 2023/2024 rainy season, 175 more than in the previous period, numbers that worry authorities, said the national commander of the Civil Protection and Fire Service.

At this moment, continued Manuel Lutango, a total of 50,850 families have been identified, totaling 228,825 people, at risk.

“An action plan for the current rainy season was analyzed. This action plan is made up of multisectoral actions, which include raising awareness among some people in risk areas, a continuous process, also involving rescue and rescue, response to care and resettlement of people in risk areas, medication support, a series of planned activities”, he declared.

The rainy season in Angola starts on August 15th and ends on May 15th.
