Quoted in a parliamentary statement, to which VerAngola had access, the Chinese ambassador said that the "cumulative volume of investment by Chinese companies in Angola has exceeded 24 billion dollars".
He therefore considered: "The seeds of friendship planted by China and Angola during the liberation struggle and national reconstruction have now grown into imposing trees".
On the occasion, the diplomat also said that "strengthening the strategic partnership with Angola continues to be a priority" for his country, adding that "Angola is China's strategic cooperation partner in Africa".
The ambassador also took the opportunity to recall that the two countries have signed "agreements in a wide range of areas, having elevated bilateral relations to the status of a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Partnership".
Speaking in continental terms, Zhang Bin said that China will work with the African continent in the coming years to achieve modernization.
"Over the next three years, China will work with Africa to implement 10 partnership actions for modernization, based on the axes of trade prosperity, production chain cooperation, connectivity, development cooperation, health, agriculture, people's well-being, people-to-people exchanges, green development and common security," the statement reads, adding that "to this end, the Chinese government plans to provide financial support of 360 billion yuan, among other investments."
The ceremony was attended by several entities, including deputies to the National Assembly, members of the Executive, representatives of political parties, among others, and featured different cultural moments.
