Almost 213 million transactions (queries, purchases, payments, withdrawals and transfers) were carried out in this period, an increase of 9.7 percent compared to July, according to the Monthly Summary Report for August 2024 by EMIS - Interbank Services Company in Angola - consulted by Lusa.
The Multicaixa Express channel dominated money transfers in the electronic banking market, with a total of 1.17 billion kwanzas in August, an increase of 7.3 percent compared to the previous month.
In a universe of five existing channels, Multicaixa Express contributed 35.6 percent of the total volume transacted by the EMIS network in August.
At the level of Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), 1.14 billion kwanzas were processed, corresponding to an overall contribution of 34.7 percent, followed by transactions via the TPA (Automatic Payment Terminal) channel with 789 billion kwanzas, with a share of 24 percent.
Internet Banking with 174 billion kwanzas and the Online Payment Gateway (GPO) with 5 billion kwanzas were the least used channels during this period.
According to EMIS, in August there were 6.7 million active multicaixa cards, 3,819 active ATMs, with a total of 2,269 in Luanda alone.
