Petro de Luanda beats Mozambicans but 1.º de Agosto does not go beyond a draw

Petro de Luanda, coached by Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, beat União Desportiva Songo de Moçambique this Sunday, 2-1, at the latter's home ground, in the first leg of the African Champions Clubs League.

In a game played at the Zimpeto stadium, the Angolans opened the scoring in the 78th minute, through Kinito, a player who ended up scoring the winning goal, in the 85th minute, after the hosts had equalized through Reginaldo, in the 83rd minute.

The second leg game, which is decisive for qualifying for the group stage of the African competition, will be played in two weeks' time, at the Tundavala stadium, in the province of Huila.

For the same competition, 1.º de Agosto suffered a 0-0 home draw against Al-Hilal, from Sudan, and, within two weeks, decides to continue in the competition.

In the African Confederation Cup, Académica do Lobito also drew 0-0 against El Merriek, from Sudan, in Nairobi, Kenya, and decides to enter the group stage of the African competition in two weeks, on national territory.

For the same competition, Sagrada Esperança lost, on Saturday, to Ferroviário de Maputo 1-0, in the first leg.
