The complex, an initiative financed by the Social Protection Fund of the Ministry of the Interior in Cuanza Norte, began to be built in 2017, being built on an area of nine hectares, with 200 T3 type residences. With drinking water and energy, the investment amounted to five billion kwanzas.
According to Sandra Paiva, general director of the Social Protection Fund, "the acquisition of residences follows resolvable rent modalities, in the order of 30 percent of employees' salaries". This criterion is open to all MININT staff, as long as they can prove payment conditions and do not have bank credit.
Payment of income is based on monthly deductions of 30 percent of the beneficiary's salary, for 20 or 30 years, according to Angop.
After cutting the ribbon, Eugénio Laborinho symbolically handed over the keys to the residences of the first five recipients.
On the occasion, Commissioner António Neto, provincial delegate of the ministry in Kwanza Norte, praised the effort and dedication of the organization in realizing the dream of owning a home for its employees and their dependents. He also said he hopes for more projects and initiatives of this kind, with a view to involving more staff.
In turn, Eurgénio Laborinho assured that the construction of other social projects is in the pipeline in the provinces of Cuanza Sul, Benguela and Cabinda. He also added that this process takes place whenever there is financial availability for this purpose.
The administration of Cuanza Norte reported that it currently has more than 2000 applications for just 200 homes built, which is why priority will be given to those with the greatest housing needs.
