Government wants to invest in training staff for the “angolanization” of the industry

The Government considered that the "Angolanization of the industry", especially the oil industry, involves raising the technical and professional level of national staff and challenged companies and training institutions to "accelerate" the process of updating the curriculum.

For the Minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Dias, the "Angolanization of the oil industry essentially involves raising the technical and professional level of national human capital to meet market demands".

Speaking at the opening of the 1st Workshop on Industrial Welding, held in Luanda, the minister said that "it is high time" to fill the jobs created in the industrial sector "using the locally trained workforce".

"We understand that it is urgent to mobilize the relevant actors in this process to reflect on the paths to be taken together to achieve this goal, with welding being chosen as the starting point", she highlighted.

In her intervention, the minister challenged companies and institutions with a vocation for training staff to accelerate the process of updating curriculum plans, technical training and international certification of trainers and their respective institutions.

She also defended the need to elevate the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training "to the restricted club of certifying entities", in order to facilitate other actors who want to provide professional training in this field, hoping to count on the participation of the private sector in this effort. .

Angola currently has a network of 161 professional training centers spread across the country, including the Huambo Integrated Technological Training Center, which will be opened soon, which has "equipment and means that are up to the challenges of the industry sector", he said .

Teresa Dias also said that, in the area of welding, the country has a "high quality" training offer in the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Huíla and Lunda Sul.
