The Angolan, through a publication on his Facebook, revealed that he is in Qatar, where he was invited to record a program related to the World Cup, having taken this opportunity to "put an end to the punishment".
"I am currently in Qatar! I was invited to record a TV program alluding to the 2022 World Cup and taking this opportunity, I finally managed to end the punishment imposed by my club and the ban by FIFA!", he wrote.
"Akwá" also says that from now on he will be able to "walk with his head held high again".
"I want to highlight the way in which, after so long, I was warmly received in Qatar, by the clubs I played for. It was surprising and magnificent! I don't think I was ever really aware of the scale of the recognition that was granted to me", he added.
According to Angop, the sanctions were applied in 2009, when "Akwá" exceeded Al Wakrah's absence on behalf of the national team, ending up being fined over 200,000 dollars.
Now, 13 years later, the punishment is lifted, motivated by the fact that the Arab emblem has almost entirely (95 percent) forgiven the debt to the Angolan, writes Angop.
Akwá is currently 45 years old, having grown up in the football world at Nacional de Benguela, having spent time at clubs such as Benfica, Alverca, Al-Wakra, among others.
It is recalled that the Angolan was the scorer of the goal that qualified Angola for the 2006 World Cup, in Germany, writes Angop.
