Government exonerates transport companies' administrations

The government this Thursday dismissed the directors of Empresa Portuária do Amboim (EPA) and of Empresa de Transportes Colectivos e Urbanos de Luanda (TCUL), having already appointed new managers for the positions.

The resignations and appointments, according to a press release to which Lusa had access, occur in the use of legal powers and in accordance with the powers delegated by the President to the Ministers of Transport, Ricardo Viegas d'Abreu, and Finance, Vera Daves.

At EPA, Flaviano Ferraz Macanga, from the position of chairman of the board, Gaspar Fernandes da Conceição and Abraão Augusto Manuel Francisco, both from the position of executive directors, and the non-executive directors Nelson Dias dos Santos and Sebastião Daniel Neto were exonerated.

In their place were appointed to the same company Francisco José Aleixo Fernandes, chairman of the board, Salustiano Francisco Pinto Ferreira and Manuel Francisco Zangui, executive directors, and Nelson Dias dos Santos and Sebastião Daniel Neto, non-executive directors.

According to the same order, Júlio Arsénio Neto was appointed to the position of non-executive director of the board of directors of the Cabinda Port Company and José Manuel Relas dos Santos Bento to the position of non-executive director of the board of directors of the Soyo Port Company.

The government also decided to remove Pedro Carmo Manuel Pereira, chairman of the board of directors of TCUL, Manuel Lotutala and Lutandila Lutumba, executive directors of the same company and Catarino Eduardo César and Luís Cândido Cruz Gaspar, non-executive directors.

To integrate the new board of directors of TCUL, a public company, Catarino Eduardo César, president of the board of directors, Eliseu Domingos Machado and Filomena Cahungo, executive directors and Nelson Pereira Jorge and Luís Cândido Cruz Gaspar Cohen, as non-executive directors, were appointed for a five-year term.

The ministers also determined the exoneration of Francisco José Aleixo Fernandes from the position of non-executive director of Empresa Portuária do Soyo and of Salustiano Francisco Pinto Ferreira from the position of captain of the Capitania do Porto Amboim.

The restructuring, the note said, also determined the resignation of Ottoniel Mauro de Almeida Manuel from the post of director general of the National Institute of Railroads of Angola and of Elsa da Conceição dos Reis Borges from the post of deputy director general of the same railway institution.
