Go see the game and get vaccinated: MINSA campaign brought vaccines to Angola-Libya

Estádio 11 de Novembro, in Luanda, left the competition aside for some time, this Tuesday becoming the scene of a more important challenge: the race against covid-19.

At the initiative of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), an advanced vaccination post against covid-19 was set up this Tuesday at the stadium, where the match between Angola and Libya took place, counting for qualification for the Championship of the World of 2022.

According to the coordinator of the ministerial team, Neusa Leseri, the idea was to vaccinate citizens who were going to watch the game and had not yet had the first dose of the vaccine, as part of the massive vaccination campaign taking place in the country.

In this way, health authorities managed to vaccinate more than 300 citizens in just two hours of activity. The first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine was administered, and citizens will be called for the second dose within 30 days.

Those responsible had available about 1000 doses to administer until the end of the game, this being a procedure that is expected to become recurrent.

To Angop, Miguel Leonardo, one of the fans present at the stadium, was pleased that MINSA had implemented a mobile vaccination post that managed to get closer to the communities. He justified the fact that he has not yet taken any dose of the vaccine with the inexistence of a clinic close to his area of residence, in Vila Flor, in the municipality of Belas.

Despite Angola's defeat in the football match, the vaccination campaign remains a "victory" for the country, with statistics indicating that more than two million citizens will have already been immunized since the beginning of the process, in March.
