Civil service entrance exams will be held annually

The Secretary of State for Public Administration, Vânio Americano, announced that competitions to enter the civil service as well as career promotions for civil servants will now take place annually.

The information was advanced at the end of the initialing of a memorandum between the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, the Ministry of Finance and the Federation of Public Administration, Health and Services Unions.

Cited by the Jornal de Angola, Vânio Americano said that this memorandum will respond to the federation's biggest claims, besides showing that the Government is committed to solve the problems.

The official explained that the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security had committed to carry out a survey of the professional data of public servants that are covered in the Federation's demands.

This work, according to the official, identified 41,441 employees whose entry process will take place from October 2021 until the first half of 2023.

He also explained that "as the employees will retire, die, or become unlinked by force of any situation and unlimited license always open vacancies in the framework of the approved staff, through this situation, should always be made the replacement of the framework".

The memorandum is the result of an eight-point set of demands that has been under discussion for two years. For now, the document responds to four points, highlighting the updating of categories and access tickets for more than 40 thousand employees.

The document also establishes that the updating of careers will be carried out with recourse to supporting documents, among which are qualification certificates, performance evaluation and time of service, and that employees close to retirement will have priority.

According to Jornal de Angola, those involved agreed to continue to discuss the remaining points of the demands, in search of solutions to all the problems.
