According to the same source, Francisco Oliveira Encoge, who was director of the Office of Support to the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) and African Countries of Portuguese Official Language (PALOP) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and who has already been involved in the meetings that preceded the conference of heads of state and government of the community, which took place on 16 and 17 July in Luanda, will present the credentials to the executive secretary of the community, Zacarias da Costa, next Tuesday.

The Angolan diplomat held, among other positions, that of Angolan consul in São Paulo, Brazil.

In addition to Angola, Timor-Leste will once again have a permanent diplomatic representation at the CPLP, led by ambassador Marina Ribeiro Alkatiry, the source said.

The diplomat was one of the residents of Casa dos Timor in Lisbon during the Indonesian occupation of East Timor (1975-1999).

In the short term, the executive secretary of the CPLP, Zacarias da Costa, who is also from Timor, should receive the credentials of the diplomat that his country has appointed to lead this permanent representation.

Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor are the nine member states of CPLP, an organization that celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.
