Covid-19: Angola with 116 new infections and three deaths in the last 24 hours

Angola registered 116 new cases, three deaths and 11 recovered cases in the last 24 hours, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Health Directorate released this Sunday.

The data states that new infections were registered in five provinces, in people aged between three months and 89 years, 74 males and 42 females.

As for deaths, in the period in question were reported two in the province of Huila and one in Luanda, all males, aged between 68 and 77 years, while the recovered were reported nine in Luanda, one in Namibe and one in Huila, aged between five and 64 years.

With the data from the last 24 hours, Angola totals 52,423 positive cases, 1391 deaths, 46,036 recovered and 4996 active, of which 41 in critical condition, 42 severe, 161 moderate, 88 mild and 4664 asymptomatic, being hospitalized 332 people, in institutional quarantine 212 others and under epidemiological surveillance 2823 contacts.

The laboratories processed in the same period 1989 samples by RT-PCR, pointing the cumulative to 9662,979 samples processed to date, with a positivity rate of 5.4 percent.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,683,586 deaths worldwide, among more than 226.96 million infections by the new coronavirus recorded since the pandemic began, according to the most recent report by Agence France-Presse.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in countries such as the United Kingdom, India, South Africa, Brazil or Peru.
