Former TCUL PCA released one week after being extradited to Angola

About a week after being extradited from Portugal to Angola, Abel Cosme, former chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of TCUL, was released.

:

According to Radio Nacional de Angola (RNA) this Wednesday, the former TCUL PCA was released after being interrogated, on the 23rd and 24th of September, by the National Directorate of Investigation and Criminal Action (DNIAP).

According to sources cited by RNA, Abel Cosme was released last Monday, September 27th.

During the interrogation, more explanations were requested about the crime of embezzlement, that the former TCUL CEO may still be indicted. However, the remaining crimes in which it was targeted will have been pardoned.

According to RNA, DNIAP has considered that Abel Cosme, at the outset, did not flee to Portugal, having traveled abroad to receive medical treatment. The conclusion resulted from the delivery of more evidence, which adds to that which the defendant's lawyers previously delivered in the context of the process.

Once the interrogation was concluded, according to RNA sources, the DNIAP considered that there would be no danger of imminent escape, but banned Abel Cosme from leaving the country.

It should be remembered that last Tuesday, 21 September, the former TCUL CEO arrived in Luanda, after being extradited by Portugal.

Abel Cosme is targeted in the Case CNC (National Council of Shippers), whose central figure is the former Minister of Transport, Augusto da Silva Tomás, who was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the crimes of embezzlement, money laundering, criminal association , between others.
