It will be 14 days of intense entertainment. The festival kicks off on September 10, with the inauguration of the central exhibition of the event, which runs until September 24.
Besides the exhibition, a press release sent to VerAngola said that comic strips and caricatures will be presented, short animated films will be shown and books and magazines will be sold. The festival will also reserve space for workshops, lectures, among others.
The Luanda Cartoon will be open to the public at Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center (CPC), in the capital, from Monday to Thursday from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm, and on Fridays from 9am to 1pm.
On Friday, September 10th, for biosecurity reasons due to covid-19, the inauguration session will be invitation-only. However, from the 13th on, entrance will be free.
Created in 2003 by the cartoonist brothers Lindomar de Sousa and Olímpio de Sousa, the Luanda Cartoon brings together comic strip artists, cartoonists, illustrators and animators every year. It is organized through a partnership between Estúdio Olindomar and CCP.
