Restrictions on cash withdrawals generate irritation among customers

Customers have been unhappy and angry about the limitations in withdrawing cash. To add to the dissatisfaction of customers, there is also the poor quality of service, the difficulty in handling accounts as well as the lack of multi-currency cards.

:

Customers complain that the banks have applied limitations on the amounts that can be withdrawn, saying that this situation has remained, more or less, for a month.

Some clients, in statements to Angop, revealed that, as an example, last week the Banco de Comércio e Indústria (BCI) allowed withdrawing a maximum of 50 thousand kwanzas per day, but this Wednesday the value had been changed to only 30 thousand.

Among the several constraints that this situation has caused, the long queues that have been created in front of the banks stand out.

Speaking to Angop, José Lando, a client of BCI, lamented the event that he says is causing several obstacles in the daily lives of people, who stand for hours in lines and then can not withdraw the desired amount.

The customer also complained about the shortage of multi-cash cards, a situation that he says has lasted for more than a year.

The situation seems to be common to other banks. Felisberto Camuto, a customer of Banco Atlântico, also complained to Angop about the limitation to withdraw money, stating that per day the bank allows withdrawing 200 thousand kwanzas.

Márcia Gonçalves, a customer of Banco Sol, also complains the same: when she tried to withdraw money she was informed that she could only withdraw 100 thousand kwanzas.

The restrictions, according to clients who preferred not to be identified, are also registered in the banks BFA, Keve, BPC, BAI, BIC, among others.

To try to resolve the situation and put an end to the floods to withdraw cash, the National Bank of Angola has imposed some measures, including extending the hours of bank branches and providing at least 95 percent cash in ATMs in periods with more demand.
