Covid-19: Maianga leads list of most affected municipalities in the country

The urban district of Maianga, in Luanda, is the most affected by covid-19. According to the latest balance sheet of the authorities, Maianga has so far registered 408 infected and 26 deaths, representing 18 percent of cases in the country.

"The urban district of Maianga, in the municipality of Luanda, leads the national statistical table with a total of 408 infected and 26 deaths, representing 18 percent," can be read in a statement published on the government's official website.

The data also reveals that the municipality of Belas, also in the capital, leads the table of recoveries, having to date added a total of 128 patients recovered.

More than 65 percent "of the total infected in the country is in the 20 to 49 age group, representing more than half of those infected. Inpatients represent 29 percent and their ages are between 30 and 39 years of age," the note indicates.

In addition, according to the latest report from health authorities, 62 percent of those infected are men and 38 percent are women. "Among the female cases, there are more children between the ages of zero and nine," the authorities reveal.

As for the number of deaths, of the 155 registered so far, 113 occurred in patients over 50 years old.

The communiqué also reveals that 270 tests to truck drivers were carried out this Tuesday at the National School of Public Health, none of which was reactive. "In the group of 75 travelers from abroad, who were in home quarantine, there was a reaction to the IGG".

The country registered in the last 24 hours more 119 infections, of which nine are from Cabinda, two from Huíla, one from Benguela and 107 in Luanda distributed in Belas, Ingombota, Talatona, Viana, Kilamba Kiaxi, Maianga, Cazenga and Cacuaco.

Angola registers a total of 4236 positive cases, 155 deaths, 1462 recovered and 2619 assets, nine of which are in critical condition.

The document also reveals that in the last 24 hours the Centro Integrado de Segurança Pública (CISP) has received 135 calls, including a suspicious case report and 134 requests for information related to covid-19.
