Oil production increased slightly in August

Oil production registered a slight increase in August: there was an increase in the order of 0.42 per cent in relation to the quantity of barrels forecast for the month.

According to a statement by the National Oil and Gas Agency (ANPG), cited by Angop, it was estimated that the average oil production in the month of August was 1 million, 260 thousand and 413 barrels. However, the value exceeded what was expected: 1 million, 265 thousand and 750 barrels of oil were produced per day on average.

Thus, total production in August was 39 million, 238 thousand and 240 barrels, an increase of 0.42 percent over the forecast.

Associated gas production also grew. Production in August was 94,228 million cubic feet, an increase of 9.63 percent over the forecast of 2773 MMSCFD (Million Standard Cubic Foot per Day).

In August, the Angola LNG unit produced 4,692,514 BOE (barrel equivalent) - a figure that includes LNG, butane, propane and condensate.

Last month three rigs were working: Transocean Skyros (on block 32), Maersk Voyager (on block 17) and an onshore rig, IDECO 350 (on the FS/FST concession). Operations were also performed in seven wells and 42 meters were drilled due to fluid loss problems that occurred in well MOS-W14 of block 32.
