Josina Baião was speaking in Luanda at the end of the ceremony to sign contracts for the adjudication of state assets following the public tenders for the privatization of the second industrial lot with six units located in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE).

Among the EEZ industries sold to private parties this Tuesday are two created with Sonangol's capital, namely Mangotal and Galvanang, metal tower and hot-dip galvanization industries, respectively.

"A great effort was made by the state, via Sonangol, to make these industries viable, we passed the baton to the private sector and our recommendation is to develop these industries with special attention to human capital," he said.

According to her, at the moment two processes of sale of Sonangol's assets are underway, namely the Hotel de Convenções de Talatona (HCTA) and the Hotel Florença, both located in Luanda.

The sale of oil assets held in São Tomé, at Sociedade Enco, in Cape Verde, where it owns an investment company, and in Ivory Coast, where it has a refinery, are also in preparation, she noted.

Sonangol also continued to work on the sale of its stake in Kwanda, an oil base in Zaire province, and on the completion of the sale of a number of assets for which tenders were launched in April this year.

"There were nine assets of companies dedicated to supporting the oil and gas activities, namely Sonamet Group, Sonatid Group, Sonadit Group and Sonasing Group companies, Painal, and we are completing the sale of the building we own on Avenida da República in Portugal", he underlined.

The Privatization Program (Propriv) of Angola registers 195 entities and/or public assets to be privatized until 2022, from the telecommunications, industry, banking, oil, mineral resources, aviation, insurance, among others.

The government announced this Tuesday that it would fit 64 billion kwanzas with the award of another nine industrial units that total 23 assets sold under the Propriv programme.
