At informal outlets, the so-called 'street markets', for example in the Kifangondo Martyrs district (also known as 'Wall Street'), each 100 bill costs about 91,000 kwanzas, 27 percent more than at the central bank, which is selling the bill at 71,666 kwanzas.

The national minimum wage in the private sector is divided into three categories: agriculture, trade and commerce and mining. For the first category the minimum wage is set at 21,454 kwanzas, for the second the value is 26,817 kwanzas while for the last category the salary is 32,181 kwanzas. According to accounts made by Novo Jornal, the average national minimum wage is about 26,000 kwanzas.

Once the accounts are done, the citizens who decide to buy the European note in the informal markets will have to spend about three months of salary while in the formal markets they will have to spend more than two salaries.
