Sacred Hope Literary Award is given next Tuesday

The National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment and the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Foundation, with the support of Banco Caixa Angola (the official sponsor of the prize), will hold the 2018 edition of the Sacred Hope Literary Award on Tuesday 15 September.

The ceremony begins at 3.30pm and will take place at the Memorial Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto, revealed the guardianship, in a statement sent to VerAngola.

In the ceremony will also be presented the book "The Festival of Pigs", authored by Francisco Agostinho Dias Neto, laureate of the 2018 edition. "The book constitutes a captivating and ludic historical fiction, portraying the colonial era in Angola with its humiliations and injustices, and for another the traditions and beliefs of the natives", can be read in the note.

The prize, was instituted in 1980 in posthumous homage to Agostinho Neto and is a promotion of the National Institute of the Cultural Industries and the Foundation Dr. António Agostinho Neto and intends "to stimulate the literary creation between the national authors, to unchain, of systematic form, a new wave of discursive legitimation for the knowledge, consolidation and defense of the angolanity".

"For the effect, it is invited the writers and the public in general to participate of this ceremony as tribute to the continuous valuation of the Angolan letters", concludes the note.
