According to Luís Fernando, the Secretary of the President of the Republic for Institutional Communications and Press Affairs, the President will arrive in the province this Friday afternoon.
Quoted in a video released by CIPRA and that VerAngola had access to, the secretary stated that Saturday will be reserved for the meeting of the Local Governance Council.
"The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, will make a working visit to the province of Benguela in the coming days. The head of state will arrive in Benguela this Friday afternoon and will preside over the first extraordinary meeting of the Local Governance Council on Saturday, a broad forum comprising provincial governors and the ministers who make up the Executive," he stated.
On the same day, the head of state will also travel to the 5th edition of the Angolan Municipalities and Cities Fair.
"Also on Saturday, the President of the Republic will participate in the opening ceremony of the 5th edition of the Municipalities and Cities Fair of Angola, a large-scale exhibition in which the country's various districts showcase the best of what they have and produce, in a true national celebration of unity and the desire for all of us to build the country together," Luís Fernando announced.
The President of the Republic will leave his homeland on Sunday. "Sunday morning, President João Lourenço will return to the country's capital (...)," the secretary added.
