Scheduled for 24 August, the tourist trip will take place between Huíla and Namibe, with the aim of promoting local tourism. In other words, it will travel along the roads between Lubango, Bibala and Moçâmedes, stopping at places such as the São Fernando Fortress, the Curoca Hills and the hot springs of Mutipa, with a round trip, writes Angop.
Paulo Tiongo, general manager of the Hotel Chick Chick – promoter of the initiative, in partnership with the governments of the provinces of Huíla and Namibe – reiterated that this activity aims to promote tourism in the region.
Speaking to Angop, the official explained that throughout the trip, typical regional food will be shown, there will be musical and poetry performances by the Lev'arte movement, and several tourist and historical sites will also be shown to visitors.
As part of the Nossa Senhora do Monte Festivities, the tourist trip departing from Lubango is being sold for 13,000 kwanzas, with children up to five years of age exempt from paying.
According to Angop, this trip includes travel insurance against accidents, as well as train transport in first and second class carriages and also stops at Estação da Serra to observe the Serra da Chela viewpoint, and at Bibala to visit the residents of that area.
It should be noted that the implementation of this train will enable interaction between the main operators in the sector, and may provide commercial opportunities with the capacity to promote tourism in the country and enable the attraction not only of tourists, but also of sustainable investments to boost the development of the sector.
This is not the first initiative of this type, having taken place in August last year the fifth edition of this type of activity, which brought together 300 tourists.
