The Provincial Government of Lunda Norte is holding, from August 30th to September 1st, the second edition of the Festival of Traditions, an annual event that celebrates and promotes the rich and vibrant Lunda-Tshokwé culture. This event takes place in Dundo, and will bring together artists, traditional groups and enthusiasts of Angolan culture during three days of celebration.
During the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to experience presentations of traditional costumes and hairstyles, listen to ancestral music played on authentic instruments and enjoy traditional dances and games that tell the stories of the ancestors.
The Festival offers a variety of activities that include lectures on historical ties and rituals of the Lunda-Tshokwé people, an exhibition of crafts, gastronomy and musical instruments from the region, a pilgrimage with offerings to "Mzambi-Kalunga" (God of the waters) with authorities traditional dances, and a parade of folk dances from the region.
