Brazilian Senate approves air deal with Angola

The Brazilian Senate approved on Tuesday the project and law that provides special rights to operate flights to companies from Brazil and Angola in their territories.

:

According to the Senate agency, "the two countries must designate airlines to fully enjoy the rights signed by diplomatic cooperation", which had been agreed in 2019.

The companies will be able to make stopovers in both territories for non-commercial purposes, "fly over the other nation's area without landing, sell and market international air services in the other country and establish their own offices in the foreign territory", it is indicated.

In addition, it is established that operators can make stopovers for boarding and disembarking passengers, luggage and cargo at specified points.

The qualifications and licenses issued will be valid in both countries, according to the bill approved on Tuesday.

The project now follows for promulgation by the Brazilian President.
