Basketball: Angola loses again at the end of the Copa del Rey

The national basketball team concluded its participation in the King’s Cup with a defeat against Portugal (67-72), in what was the last preparation test for the Olympic pre-qualification tournament, which took place in Amman (Jordan).

At half-time, the Angolans were already fighting against a seven-point deficit (31-38), and they only managed to lead in punctual terms in the last period. The partials were 14-17 (1st), 17-21 (2nd), 17-19 (3rd) and 19-15 (4th). In the final result, Angola did not go beyond 67 points, against 72 scored by the Portuguese.

On the Portuguese side, defensive midfielder Diogo Brito stood out with 21 points and seven rebounds, while on the Angolan side the best player on the field was Eduardo Francisco, with 17 points.

Angola thus adds the third consecutive defeat, leaving the tournament without any game won. Remember that the pupils of the Spaniard Pep Clarós lost in their debut against the Mexican national team (76-78), followed by a new defeat against the hosts of Jordan (56-70).
