Carla Mutemeka Tito – fictitious name – will be responsible for the care of the newborn. Cited by Angop, Carla expressed satisfaction at having won the process, in which five families from the said province were involved.

According to Ester Vumbi, provincial director of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, in Moxico – who was speaking at the handover ceremony, which took place this Wednesday –, the said custody, which is provisional in nature, will cover a period of 90 working days, awaiting the revocation of the parents, who probably abandoned the baby. Cited by Angop, the official took the opportunity to describe the action taken to ensure the baby's shelter, stability and healthy growth as "appropriate".

At this stage, according to Angop, the intervening entities will carry out the normal follow-up of the process, in the sense of, later, assigning custody definitively.

It should be noted that the firefighters were warned by the population of the baby's presence in the garbage. After the rescue, the baby was taken to the Maternidade Provincial do Moxico, where he stayed until he was welcomed by the host family.
