According to a note from the Ministry of Health, which VerAngola had access to, the information was advanced by the Secretary of State for the Hospital Area, Leonardo Inocêncio, who was speaking within the scope of the Finance Training Meeting, which aimed to raise awareness and assessing the "impact of future challenges and opportunities".
"The responsibility for the management of funds through the State's Integrated System of Financial Management, was an approach that contained, this Wednesday, August 16, in Luanda, the focus of the financing made available by the World Alliance on Vaccines", reads in a guardianship note.
On the occasion, the official stressed that this amount aimed at vaccinating children will have to be used "scrupulously for vaccination".
"This money intended for the vaccination of our children will have to be used scrupulously for vaccination", he said, quoted in the note.
The official also informed that "the country registers a deficit in terms of vaccination in which 60 percent of the municipalities that have coverage below the recommended level are in the provinces of Luanda, Cuanza Sul and Cunene, however, he recommends to administrators, in order to redouble efforts to recover these indicators", reads the statement.
On the other hand, GAVI left the "guarantee of full assistance to the Ministry of Health in supporting reforms and implementation of projects".
