According to a company note, "to celebrate this important project milestone", the symbolic act of the "first steel cut" was carried out at the ALGOA shipyard, located in the municipality of Porto Amboim.

"The development of the N'dola Sul field is a project that will be proudly carried out in Angola, by Angolans and for Angolans. It is an application of a strategy centered on the development of low-cost projects, short cycle and simplified structures", says the statement.

The field is located in Block 0, 60 kilometers from the Malongo Terminal, in the province of Cabinda, consisting of a wellhead platform with 12 production wells and a 'tie-back' to the existing production and processing platform in Mafumeira, where the fluids will be processed and exported to the Block 0 oil and gas transport system.

According to the note, over more than 65 years of operation in Angola, Cabgoc has carried out several large capital projects, which have contributed to the country's economic development.

"This is possible by building organizational capacity within the company, our local business partners and delivering added value to the country through the development and production of its hydrocarbon resources", underlines the document.

The initial manufacturing phase will create more than 800 jobs locally and the complete project will result in oil and gas production that will be channeled to the Malongo Terminal in Cabinda and to the Angola LNG plant in Soyo, respectively.

"N'dola Sul will further demonstrate Cabgoc's ability to develop new fields in Block 0, while also developing both the country's human resources and service capabilities," said the company's director general, Billy Lacobie, quoted in the note, stressing that "this project will facilitate other projects in Angola, by Angolans and for Angolans".

The inauguration was attended by the provincial governor, Job Capapinha, the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, representatives of the Board of Directors of the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels, Block 0 partners and other government representatives.

Cabgoc, as operator, has a 39.2 percent stake in Block 0, together with Sonangol EP (41 percent active stake), TotalEnergies (10 percent active stake) and Azule Energy (9.8 percent active participation).
