According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, to which VerAngola had access, the investment intentions were expressed, this Monday, in a meeting between a delegation of representatives of the American agency and the Secretaries of State for Planning and for the Economy.

"USAID has 900 million dollars to invest in the Lobito Corridor and another 250 million for the production of solar energy", reads the note.

The note from the ministry also informs that after 30 years of "partnership with Angola in the health sector, USAID is now seeking to diversify its areas of action and support the agriculture, education, infrastructure and export sectors".

It should be recalled that last month the concession for rail services and logistics support for the Lobito Corridor was passed, with the consortium made up of Trafigura, Vecturis and Mota-Engil becoming responsible for the operation of said runner for 30 years.

The act was attended by President João Lourenço, as well as his counterparts from Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Hakainde Hichilema and Félix Tshisekedi, respectively.
