"When I was a child, Daddy taught me not to be afraid of the dark, because the light always comes", wrote José Eduardo Paulino dos Santos, better known by the artistic name of Coreon Du on his social media.

"In the most difficult moments, I will remember your serene voice and smile that I hope will motivate me not to lose my optimism or sanity. Congratulations, papa", wrote the Angolan singer and producer.

Businesswoman Isabel dos Santos had expressed her sorrow the day before, writing: "What is happening is heartbreaking" and publishing a 'post' which read: "Betrayal, lack of loyalty, burns in the heart of who trusted so much. When we are betrayed by those we love, we cry and mourn a death pain, it's as if we had to bury someone still breathing".

Tchize dos Santos, businesswoman, influencer and former MPLA deputy, also wished her father a "happy birthday", in a post accompanied by a song in which she added: "In your memory, I will continue to fight for the homeland".

Tchizé dos Santos also refers to the statements of General Francisco Furtado, who on Saturday accused his children of lacking common sense, regretting that they had lost the "best opportunity" criticizing "the warmongering beings, despicable and devoid of any humanism" who consider that "the funeral is a battle".

The three have not visited Angola for several years, like José Eduardo dos Santos who chose to go into exile in Barcelona when the regime led by João Lourenço, his successor from 2017, raised the flag of the fight against corruption, reaching some of his children. , namely Isabel do Santos, who is facing several lawsuits in court.

This Sunday, only four of the eight children of the former head of state were present at the funeral ceremonies: the three in common with Ana Paula dos Santos (Josiane, Danilo and Breno) and José Filomeno dos Santos, who was convicted in a corruption case and is awaiting appeal. in freedom.

Josiane read an emotional eulogy on behalf of the family, recalling her father's taste for sport and music, and underlining: "Your light will always shine, you will never be forgotten". "Your children and grandchildren will always love you, may your soul rest in peace", said Josiane in a choked voice.
