The head of state went to the Army Headquarters (former RI 20), in the capital, where the wake took place. He was accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço.

According to a statement from the Presidency to which VerAngola had access, the President of the Republic "comforted the family" of the War Commander of the Angolan Navy, having then laid a wreath at the wake and written a message in the book of condolences.

João Lourenço said that the officer will be remembered as "a selfless and delicate military citizen", who affirmed himself in a military career "with brio, dedication and unusual patriotism, which earned him the respect and admiration of the military class".

Bornito de Sousa, Vice-President of the Republic, several ministers of State and members of the National Assembly, as well as other figures from the State apparatus and the Angolan Armed Forces, were also present at the wake.
