National Scrutiny Center coordinated by the president of the CNE

The National Electoral Commission (CNE) created the coordination group for the National Scrutiny Center for the 2022 general elections, made up of six members, including the president of the CNE.

Order No. 1/22, of 26 July, published in Diário da República, states that the creation of this coordination group for the National Scrutiny Center is due to the amendment of the previous law, of 2011, by a new one of 2021, which establishes that the structure, organization and functioning of the center are defined in a diploma approved by the CNE.

The coordination group of the National Scrutiny Center has as its general coordinator the president of the CNE, Manuel Pereira da Silva, as the technical coordinator the national commissioner, João Damião, and the national commissioners Manuel Sabonete Camati, Isaías Celestino Chitombi, Miguel Rodrigues Cazevo and Rafael Daniel Aguiar.

The document emphasizes that the group is supported by officials and technicians appointed by the general coordinator, with the CNE spokesman, national commissioner Lucas Quilundo, being responsible for disseminating information in the media on the work of the technical coordination group.

The national commissioner Cremildo Paca, coordinator of the voting process abroad, is responsible for monitoring the work of the technical coordination group, to ensure the dissemination of voting results abroad.

The technical coordination group constantly reports to the CNE plenary on matters that require the decision and approval of the plenary.
