João Lourenço addresses the state of relations between DRCongo and Rwanda in a message to Cyril Ramaphosa

Angola received a mandate from the African Union last May to help resolve the dispute and normalize relations between DRCongo and Rwanda.

Tension between Rwanda and DR Congo has grown exponentially in recent months, following the resumption in March of fighting between the army and the March 23 (M23) rebel movement, which Kinshasa says is supported by the neighboring country, a charge denied. by Kigali.

In the message released this Wednesday in Luanda, President João Lourenço also referred to the activities of the African Union, especially Agenda 2063, concerning development, "in addition to underlining issues related to peace and security with regard to silencing of weapons on the continent".

The communiqué concludes with the information that Téte António is heading to Dakar, where he will be received on Thursday by the President of Senegal and current acting president of the African Union, Macky Sall.
