On the other hand, Shoprite is the most expensive supermarket when it comes to the basic food basket. For the 13 products, the commercial establishment charges 31.313 kwanzas.
According to the figures, cited by Jornal de Angola, during the second week of August, the prices of the basic food basket in supermarkets varied by 2.11 percent. In contrast, in the first week of the month the variation was 2.09 percent while at the end of July it stood at 1.95 percent.
During the period under observation, the highest variation occurred in Maxi, Africana Descount, Nossa Casa, Martal and Candando. The lowest changes were seen at Shoprite, Deskontão, Intermarket, Kero and Alimenta Angola.
